Christmas Gift Guide Series #1 - Mum

I cannot believe how quickly 2013 has gone by! It was such a good year for me and I can't wait for 2014. Christmas is quickly closing in on us and I bet most people are in a sweat about getting their friends and families some presents for the big day. I usually end up leaving it all last minute, but this year I amn't going to leave myself running around a few days before Christmas. It's never worth the hassle!

I thought I'd do a gift guide series for you all and hopefully it helps somebody out! The first gift series is for your Mums, Grandmothers, Great Grandmothers, whoever you feel that these gifts suit. I just put together a list of things that my Mum likes and mixed it around to suit the festive theme.

Soap & Glory always put together the best gift sets, their Relax Station Gift Set is perfect for a Christmas gift. It includes a body buffer, shower gel, hand cream, foot cream and body butter - it also includes a shower puff and hair turban. This would be a great treat for the ladies.

I always love receiving pyjamas, slippers and the likes as presents. I think with the colder weather coming in, a nice housecoat or fluffy PJs and some socks would be a lovely gift for anybody! I found a gorgeous Aztec Print Fleece Robe and some Faux Fur Textured Boots. There's so many to choose from on every online site and in every clothing store, if it was up to me I'd be in reindeer socks and a big reindeer onesie! No joke. If your on a low budget these are the perfect gifts because you can pick up great PJs in Primark.

My Mam absolutely loves Yankee candles, they're definitely one of her favourite candle brands. I picked out two Christmas themed choices for the sake of this post. Red Apple Wreath and the Christmas Classics set of three, are all so sweet and Christmassy. They make it feel like it's Christmas day! Yankee candles are quite pricey but they last so long and smell amazing! I'm sure you can get cheaper alternatives as well. Right now they have a 25%-40% off all festive candles and accessories sale on their site, so if you're thinking of getting one, get it now! 

Of course, I had to pick something from Lush for my Mam! She loves bath bombs and I'm pretty sure there's a few in Lush that she hasn't even seen yet. The Christmas ones look incredible! The Melting Snowmen Luxury Bath Melts are just too cute to pass by and the Secret Santa Bath Bomb is unbelievably detailed and the 'Secret Santa' is a little red Santa bath bomb, inside the house! How cool is that?! Lush bath bombs are always amazing and work wonders for your skin. There's plenty to choose from and you will not regret buying them once you've used them. And then you might just get a serious addiction....

There you have it, my 'Gift Guide Series #1'. I really hope this helps anybody who needs a few ideas. Of course there's so many more things you could get for your Mammies! And remember - it's the thought that counts if you can't afford big expensive presents, maybe make your Mam something nice or get her something small - she's your Mam she will appreciate anything you give her.

Side note - This is my first post from my new MacBook, I'm so glad I bit the bullet and got it in the end. Everyone who pushed me to get it, thank you! It's definitely going to take a bit of getting use to as it's completely different to a windows laptop, which I have had for most of my life. But, I'll get there in time! Yay!

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter Review

Hey everyone!

I had been saying I was going to get this product for absolutely ages and I just wouldn't go into the shop and spend a measly tenner! Obviously from the title of this post you know I'm on about Lush's Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter.

A super-thick cream choc full of rich ingredients to help you get to grips with dry bits. Knees, elbows, heels, nails and cuticles – all will benefit from some Lemony Flutter attention."

I've seen so many positive reviews about this product and seeing as I love painting my nails and keeping them healthy lately, I thought I just had to get this! As soon as I started using it, I started to notice my nails growing and being a lot healthier and stronger than usual. Why didn't I get this sooner!?


Anyways, instead of a big essay of why I love it and another essay on its flaws, as I always do in blog posts, I decided to do two lists of 'Pros' and 'Cons'! It makes it a lot easier for you guys to read and also for me to write!


PROS

• First of all, the tub is big enough. It's a 50g tub, and let me tell you, a little goes a long way.
• It's very moisturizing to your nails, cuticles, fingers and hands. You can use it on any dry patches you have. Such as your elbows, feet and your knees!
• It almost works over night, well for me anyways.

CONS

• It's quite expensive for the tub, it's just under €10 here in Ireland.
• It has a very strong lemony scent, which can be very overpowering. But if you like that scent, then you're okay I suppose!
• It expires after one year. If you don't use it daily like me, you might not get to finish it.
• Lastly, it's very greasy/oily on your skin. But absorbs within 5-10 minutes usually. I find it best to put it on at night time because you don't be using your hands as much.

This is completely amazing for me as my nails have never been this healthy, or this long, well.. maybe this long but certainly not this strong! Have a look at this post and see what my nails were like just a few weeks ago. I really do believe that this product is helping them a lot. 

I'd recommend it to anyone! Family, friends, strangers, you guys, cats and dogs.. IT'S JUST AMAZEBALLS! Haha.

The Top 5 Products I've Been Wanting!

Hey everyone!

Today I said I'll do a quick post! The top 5 products on my 'to-get ASAP list'. As I stated in my last post, I am creating a HUGE wishlist page and that's almost done too.. Kind of.. I'M GETTING THERE!! I also felt I needed to write a new blog post for you guys because I've been lacking, super badly! I'm not even going to get into it as I've said it in previous posts. I am truly sorry though, I will try and blog more, I keep starting and then just sitting and staring at a blank screen. It's annoying! Anyways, moving on. I'm just going to get straight into it!

LUSH | Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

The first product I want is from LUSH! As you may or may not know, I'm a big nail care/painting geek. This is the LUSH cuticle butter! Supposedly it's amazing! And that, I will have to see for myself! I have recently been addicted to LUSH products, I love their staff but obviously, I love their shop too! This cuticle butter is on my to-get list as of now! Can't wait to try it out!

LUSH | Handy Gurugu Hand Cream

Another LUSH product I've been eyeing up is the Handy Gurugu Hand Cream! Coming into winter I think a good ol' hand cream is in need! But it's also essential for me as I'm doing a hairdressing course at the moment so my hands will be in water and also touching many chemicals over the coming weeks, so hand cream is essential for me. I am planning on getting a travel size hand cream as well as this but haven't made my mind up yet on what I want. Maybe I'll try get this into a little squirty bottle. Hmm.

Toni&Guy | Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray

The next product is from Toni&Guy and it's hair related! I honestly don't get much hair related products, but I really should start, my hair does my head in and I just feel like ripping it out sometimes! I have long hair and it's just so frustrating, but I could never get it cut short, I'd be way too scared. Anyways, I  found this texturising spray while looking through some blogs and once I seen it, I checked out some reviews! I get the feeling this product isn't exactly what I expect, but hey! I'm still going to buy&try!

Models Own | Hed Kandi Hedonist

I recently bought Models Own Beach Party and I was totally over the moon with it, so I went back to Boots to nab some more Models Own polishes. I tried this one on my nail and I fell in love with it! It's so bright and beautiful on the nails. To my horror though, they had only one left and it was opened and had nail polish all on the lid and stuff, I wasn't paying almost €8 for a used nail polish, no way. I asked the girl and she said they had no more left. So it's off to a different Boots I go, to try and pick this up!

Real Techniques | Powder Brush

The last item I want is the Real Techniques Powder Brush. I have already got their Starter Set, their Core Collection set and their Stippling Brush! I absolutely love the quality of their brushes and I'm definitely going to get more. Eventually I'll have the lot! The only downfall of these brushes is the price. I can only get them in Boots and they are a lot dearer than they are on the Real Techniques site, which is very, very annoying! If anyone knows of any other shops I can get these brushes in for smaller prices, please let me know!

My Wishlist

I've been wanting a lot of products lately so I decided to make a post on some of them. I wish I could win the lotto and just buy them all! This list ranges from makeup products, to nail polish, to skincare products.

MAC | Lady Danger Lipstick. (Around €18)

The colour of this lipstick is just amazing! I love its brightness. It's definitely on my wishlist this summer.

Bobbi Brown | Basic Brush Collection. (Around €140)

I've really been needing a basic brush kit, as I have brushes all over the place in my house. I don't think I'd spend this much money on a brush set, not yet anyways. Does anyone know any cheaper sets you can get, with good quality?

Models Own | Coral Reef. (Around €4)

I've never tried Models Own nail polish, and I really am keen to. I loved this colour straight away and I'm definitely going to get it this summer.

Models Own | Ibiza Mix - Hed Kandi! (€4)

I love this glitter polish from models own too, and am dying to try it on top of loads of different colours!

Topshop | Nails In Easy Breezy. (Around €6)

I've heard many great reviews about Topshop's nail polish, and when I scanned through their site the first colour I was attracted to was this one. It's a summery colour and I'm going to have to try this soon!

Sleek | Storm I-Divine Palette. (€8)

I really only wear neutral tones on my eyes as I'm not a big eye shadow fan. So this would be the best palette for me. I am dying to experiment and this palette for just €8 is a bargain!

LUSH | BB Seaweed Face Mask. (Around €7)

I've seen great reviews about this product and I am curious to try it myself. I want to know does it live up to the reviews. I love lush products and I'm really hoping to try this soon!

So this is just a small list of products I want to try. I'm going to try do a wishlist maybe once or twice a month, just to see what products you guys think I should avoid and ones I should definitely try out.
